My name is Jackie D. Floyd. I am the President of the VFW Auxiliary Post 8535 in Henderson, Texas. We collect money at each of our monthly meetings to send to National Home to help support the great things they do for our military and their families. We also donate extra when we can. The support they provide these families is amazing. National Home is there to help them transition into their new life. Without these homes for them to live in and a community to survive in, some families might not make it. They are a great organization for our military and their families. Thanks for all you do.

Absolutely love volunteering with the Sanctuary for Senior Dogs and seeing the care, love and dedication they deliver to insure all their senior dogs live out their best lives!

I was originally referred to the JCA by a friend. I had been recently laid off and was seeking not just another job, but also guidance on the current landscape of job seeking and how to possibly pivot my career. I heard about the Career Gateway Program while virtually attending one of JCA's job fairs and immediately reached out to Jodie Rasch to get signed up. I cannot say enough about this outstanding 5-day workshop and the facilitator Dr. Elise Barnes! It exceeded all of my expectations, not just in terms of excellent content, but also in terms of community. I am a proud graduate of the Career Gateway Program and I have also completed the LinkedIn and PowerPoint training courses. I am now working with a career mentor who was assigned to me after I completed the Program (another WONDERFUL benefit of the Program). JCA is an EXCELLENT resource to the 50+ community and I cannot stop singing its praises.

There is something magical about watching people experience the minis. This group does so much good for the community! I have volunteered with them for 3 years now, and have always experienced a deep and joyful bond with the minis, my fellow volunteers, and with the people we visit. So rewarding!

I am going through Identity theft. Verizon illegally changed my address & caused identity theft. I am also going through financial abuse. I sent them a request for help. They sent me a letter for a donation. Not at all impressed.

I was a volunteer driver for NeighborRide several years ago, really enjoying meeting riders, learning about them, and learning about different services and locations in our county where I was taking them. More recently I have become a user of their services for my husband. Whenever we have contracted for a driver, my husband has been picked up promptly, delivered where he needs to go, and returned home safely. He has enjoyed meeting and talking with his drivers. I feel very lucky to have this service available in our area.

I'm a college student and have volunteered with multiple affiliates of the Aging Forward alliance. Every experience has been very rewarding. The people genuinely care, not just about the work, but about each other. Every time I volunteer, I feel like I’m part of something bigger, helping older adults stay connected and appreciated. I’ve learned so much along the way. Aging Forward and all the volunteers are working to make the world a better place.

They are so passionate and committed to the well being of our American Veterans!

So lucky to have found them! My daughter enjoys attending their Birth To Five program — I love how their structure allows her to explore independently and freely when it comes to learning. Staff is so caring and responsive! They are the absolute best!

Our experience with Missoula Aging Services has gone full circle. 10 years ago I retired early to care for elderly parents and to help care for our grandkids. Initially, my mother-in-law moved to Missoula with Alzheimer’s. Two years later she passed and my mother of 92 years with short term memory loss moved to Missoula and lived to be 98. My husband was involved as well, while holding down a full time job. Little did we know the strain it could put on our relationship. But our relationship is stronger today because of the teamwork it takes to care for elderly parents. <br><br>In each case MAS was there to help us with health care insurance, taxes and other resources available to make our lives easier. It was comforting to know they were there for support. I would always walk away form MAS filled with gratitude for the community service they provide. <br><br>It has been almost two years of freedom from elderly care. My husband and I feel fortunate to know we were there for our parents in their last years, even though it was mentally draining. <br><br>So now we come full circle as we turned 65 this year and find ourselves asking MAS for guidance with Medicare! As usual, they guided us in the right direction and again, feel gratitude. Our story could have gone in a catastrophic direction without the support of Missoula Aging Services. We are fortunate to live in the Missoula community filled with so many resources to make living healthy and enjoyable. Missoula Aging Services is at the top of our list. My experience with PSS is a wonderful one. I'm able to get out from the house, meet with others like myself, play games, learn more of the computer, do crafts and most of all get others to communicate with. Not forgetting the food sometimes is delicious and I'm thankful for their hard work. I'm also thankful for the other staffs who make sure we are safe and the interns who makes me laugh.

Mickey Hall <br>As a lifelong resident of West Chester, I have been aware of the Senior Center and all it has to offer to our community. Now as a board member I have a much better understanding of the opportunities offered to seniors in our area. The staff is devoted and committed to the service and betterment our seniors. The services offered help area seniors to stay connected and engaged in their health, wellness, education and entertainment. Providing an opportunity for seniors to come together in a safe and welcoming environment to share so many experiences is a benefit to them and their families. <br>Please share the upcoming event of Casino Night to be held on November 2, 2024 with friends and family. Come out and join many seniors and friends for a night of great fun.

I have taken care of my Aunt and Uncle and special-needs cousin since 2018. At that time my Uncle, 99, fell to the floor with pneumonia and my Aunt, 92, trying to lift him, cracked her pelvis. Both ended up incapacitated; Uncle Warren went to the hospital; he went from being able to walk and drive a car to confined to a wheel chair; Aunt Austra could no longer go grocery shopping or even get out of bed to go to the bathroom without severe pain. Their son, Cousin Kevin, 54, schizophrenic since age 18, was used to them driving him to doctor's appointments and grocery stores. Suddenly, the household came to an abrupt stop. No food in the kitchen. No bills being paid. No relatives or friends nearby. As one of their only retired relatives, I stepped in to help. I live in Oklahoma and they live in Schenectady, NY. You can imagine there were some challenges. One of the amazing things Austra said to me when I flew in to get things organized was "One thing you need to do is get a trash pick up service." - Uncle Warren had been driving all trash and recyclables to a pickup station every week - at age 99!<br><br>Umbrella has been instrumental in meeting one significant challenge: allowing all three of them to stay in their home. Umbrella assessed the home situation and recommended safety upgrades and maintenance at a very reasonable price. One of their employees has been able to take Kevin to get food and pick up medications whenever he needs. The head of Umbrella even came to the house to coach Austra, who was very hard of hearing, on how to use a tablet to communicate.<br><br>Certainly there were other challenges such as getting an in-home doctor and care givers to look after Warren and Austra. Warren made it to 102, passing in 2020. And Austra died at 97 last year, 2023. Kevin is still living in the family house, learning a few new skills (still doesn't drive, use a cell phone, or internet), and relying on Umbrella recently to fix a broken sliverware drawer and kitchen faucet. <br><br>I think Umbrella of the Capital District provides an outstanding service. The NY Capital District is lucky to have this organization. I don't know of any other area that has anything like this personal service.<br><br>Beth Rooney, Tulsa, Oklahoma

Senior Citizens Council provides a much needed support services to residents of Clackamas County that are at risk of abuse/exploitation either in the form of self-neglect or neglect/exploitation/abuse by others. We should all have someone like the staff at Sr. Council in our corner helping us live our best life.

Donated a few bucks over the years. The rescued chimps are living their best lives possible there. The Veterinarian crew is top=notch.

I have worked with a number of non-profits who sponsor apartment communities under the same HUD program as Episcopal Place. The services and activities that are being provided at EP far exceeds any others. They are able to provide these extras, due to the committed staff and Board of Directors. I would recommend anyone who needs support and assistance in finding low-income housing for seniors and the disabled to contact EP for an application.

We own a wedding barn venue and some of our older guests were struggling to walk a long path to the ceremony area. I asked John if he had any equipment we could use, he didn’t hesitate. The wheel chairs and battery operated chair has been a “Blessing”. One grandpa wanted to walk in the ceremony procession with everyone for his grand daughter’s wedding but couldn’t on his own, he was so thankful when we showed him the battery operated wheelchair that he could drive himself with no assistance.

They asked us to write review. My boy thinks it's great. so do wife and me. Hope he stays in it. really liked it. How they het the kids to pay attention and particapate is fantastic. Wish I could play piano! Very good

I have been involved with the Friends of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Suffolk for many years. They are a great organization that provides free services for seniors in our county. They helped me find a local volunteer opportunity. The people in the office are very warm and caring. They respond to my questions quickly. They make me and the other volunteers feel really appreciated. It's a great organization and I feel lucky to be able to volunteer through them.

This nonprofit has helped me and my family with furniture and items we needed. They helped us help after losing our housing. We were able to get a home and was able to get beds for our kids a kitchen table and living room furniture. We are eternally grateful for their generosity.

I have collaborated with WISE & Healthy Aging in their efforts to serve the senior community for many years. The ingenuity and effectiveness of their programs truly put this organization in a league of their own. In interactions with the staff at WISE & Healthy Aging I am often struck by the sincerity and dedication with which they carry out their incredible work. This is not just a job for this team, they are undoubtedly passionate about what they do.

I just recently finished volunteering as a marketing intern for fellowship square. As a college student, I was looking for an opportunity to gain marketing experience. What I found was that and more. While doing work to help increase Fellowship Square's visibility and outreach, I got to learn more about the mission of the organization- to provide older adults with affordable housing. With the current housing crisis making affordable housing more and more difficult to obtain, Fellowship Square exists to bridge this gap. As an intern, I got to see this generosity up close through Fellowship Square's kind staff, amazing programs, and impressive facilities. Overall, I am so grateful I got the opportunity to contribute to an organization like fellowship square, one that is making change in the world. Volunteering for them was a wonderful experience.

We, at the Gladstone Community Education Center, in partnership with the St. Paul Senior Workers Association, were thrilled to organize the 2nd annual gift-wrapping event, and Gifts For Seniors was the driving force behind its success. Their beautiful holiday care packages brought so much joy to our seniors during a winter weather advisory. Each thoughtful gift—soft blankets, fuzzy socks, puzzle books, and more—made a meaningful impact, reminding our seniors how deeply they are cared for by our community.<br>Our amazing Gladstone Meals on Wheels volunteers, including incredible partners like Sholom, Comfort Keepers, and Oasis Senior Advisors, went above and beyond to deliver these gifts and meals to seniors and homebound neighbors, braving snowy roads with unwavering dedication. The teamwork and love shared during this initiative truly captured the spirit of the season.<br>If you’re looking to support an organization that spreads warmth, connection, and kindness to seniors, Gifts For Seniors is exceptional. Their work inspires us, and we are so grateful to have had the opportunity to collaborate with them. Highly recommend supporting this wonderful nonprofit!

I have seen ANV operate on the inside and the outside, so I can attest it is a well-run, totally committed, and superlatively dedicated organization to both its members and its volunteers.
